IDRIS and Industries
CNRS encourages IDRIS direct participation in industrial cooperations and projects, to the extent that this activity does not interfere with the basic research support. IDRIS Direction is allowed to engage about 10% of the Institute HP resources in industrial projects. This is implemented by a direct relationship between IDRIS direction and the industrial partners.
Industrial co-operation
As a world class center of excellence in high performance computing, IDRIS priorities in this area are projects and actions that significantly enhance the industrial impact of HPC. Here are some examples:
- Industrial code optimizations aiming at extending scalability to extreme cases, and to improve the efficiency of the underlying algorithms.
- Mission critical projects, where powerful and dedicated supercomputing resources are needed for fixed period of time.
- Projects that can benefit from the outstanding sustained performances delivered by vector supercomputers.
- Projects which require new emerging technologies high performance computing, in the areas of code couplings and grid computing.
- Advise and training.
This list is not exhaustive. The IDRIS direction is ready to examine all possibilities in industrial co-operation. To get more information, contact Serge Fayolle, IDRIS Director.
