The User Committee of IDRIS
The role of the Comité des Utilisateur·ices (CU, User Committee) is to engage in dialogue with the centre to ensure that all projects to which computing resources have been allocated can be carried out under the best possible conditions. Working Group for Single FSD Requests
Users have been requesting for years that only one FSD (Fonctionnaire Sécurité Défense = Defence Security Officer) authorisation request be necessary for the 3 national computing centres and that the response be valid for all 3 centres. This request has been accepted in principle for a long time, but is still only partially in place.
We invite anyone for whom this does not work (automatic propagation without having to reapply) to contact the CU president (Marie-Bernadette.Lepetit@neel.cnrs.fr - Tel +33 4 76 88 90 45).
A working group has been in place for about 2 years to advance this issue.
Participants include the head of the PPST (Protection du Potentiel Scientifique et Technique = Protection of Scientific and Technical Potential) service of the FSD, 3 people from IDRIS including the director, and user representatives:
- Marie-Bernadette.Lepetit@neel.cnrs.fr - Tel +33 4 76 88 90 45
- Alain.Miniussi@oca.eu - Tel: +33 4 92 00 30 09 / +33 4 83 61 85 44
The CU members participating in the working group also take on the role of PPST correspondents in charge of the following missions:
- Advice on procedures for FSD requests
- Answering common user questions
- Relaying encountered problems to FSD instances
- Relaying information to users on procedures for being accepted at computing centres.
