Directions if using public transportation

Taking the train from Paris, RER line B:

Coming from Paris, take the RER  B train in the direction of St. Rémy-les-Chevreuse (a 30 to 45-minute trip). To purchase the correctly priced train ticket, you need to choose at which stop you will get off the train. You can choose between 3 stops: Massy-Palaiseau, Le Guichet or Orsay Ville (see descriptions below). When you are on the RER B platform, you must check the scheduled stops for the on-coming train. These are lit up on the electronic signs above the train platform where you await the train.  Take a train which includes the stop you have chosen.   (Attention: Some of the RER B trains take a fork to Robinson. Be careful NOT to take a train whose last stop is Robinson! Also, be sure to KEEP your train ticket with you during the train ride as you may be asked to show it to a “controleur”!)

Getting off the train at the ''Massy-Palaiseau'' stop (New since 4 April 2016)

Directions if you are coming by plane

Arriving at Orly airport:

There are two different ways to come to IDRIS from Orly airport:

  • Take the busline 91-10 leaving from Orly airport. (This bus also makes a stop at the RER B Massy-Palaiseau/TGV-Massy train station.) Get off the bus at the Université Paris-Saclay stop . IDRIS is a 10-minute walk following Joliot-Curie street and then Louis de Broglie street (Plan). IDRIS is on the right, just near the No. 7 DE BROGLIE bus stop (building 506).
  • Alternately, take the airport shuttle train called ORLYVAL. This automatic train runs between Orly airport and the RER B train station at Antony.  After arriving at Antony, take the RER B train in the direction of St Remy les Chevreuse. Get off the train at either the Le Guichet or Orsay Ville train stop.  (Then follow the directions as previously described under “Taking the train, RER line B”).

Arriving at Charles de Gaulle airport:

After going through the passport control, follow signs to “Baggages - Sortie - Exit”. After getting your luggage, follow the “Sortie - Exit” signs above. If you are planning to come to IDRIS by train, follow the signs to “RER B, Paris by train”. Depending on the terminal you arrive at, you may need to take the free “CDGVAL Airport Shuttle” train to the RER station (Terminal 3, Roissypole“).  Tickets for the RER B train may be bought at a vending machine in the airport or at the ticket office (Guichet/Billets Paris et Ile de France). (If you need help, there are people wearing red or blue jackets and “welcome” badges in the airport who are there to assist you.) Attention: Before buying the tickets, you need to decide how you want to come to IDRIS after getting off the train and buy your ticket accordingly! There are 3 possibilities, described under ”Taking the train RER, line B“.

After buying your RER ticket, you will need to use it to go through a turnstyle before descending (on escalator) to the RER train platform (Voie 22). Check the lit up indicator boards above the quai to know at which stations the train will be stopping.  It is best to wait for a train which is going all the way to your destination stop. (If it doesn't go that far, you need to get off at the Gare du Nord in Paris and wait for another B train, on the same platform, which will take you the rest of the way. If you do this, you don't need to buy another ticket.) Be sure to KEEP your ticket with you during the train ride as you may be asked to show it by a “controleur”. Depending on your choice of how to get to IDRIS after leaving the train, get off the train at either Massy-Paliseau (1 hour a one-hour train ride) or Le Guichet or Orsay-Ville stop (about a 1 hour 15-minute train ride).  Then follow the directions to get to IDRIS as previously described under ”Taking the train, RER line B“.
