The User Support Team

The User Support team, composed of sixteen engineers, is the privileged interface between IDRIS and its users. Its mission consists of helping the users to adapt their scientific requirements (compute codes, applications), at every level, to the intensive calculation means of IDRIS. To achieve this goal, several basic services are directly accessible to the users:

• Assistance to users by telephone or electronic mail
• IDRIS WEB site (www.idris.fr/eng), knowledge base for users
• Assistance in porting codes on the available IDRIS architectures
• Installation and maintenance of software applications and scientific libraries
• Courses (programming languages, MPI and OpenMP code parallelisation) and other specific trainings

The User Support team dedicates itself to services of the highest quality which the team puts in place in response to the needs and requests of the scientific community. It provides advanced applied support in the domain of intensive calculation and other services such as:

• Individually adapted user assistance (parallelization, vectorisation, optimisation, code coupling)
• Hyperscaling of applications on the Blue Gene/Q
• Implication in the PRACE European projects (application domain),
• Test benches for new architectures
• Technology watch
